(b) To specify it’s purpose , thee are different network protocols which can be used at MUBS and in different ways which include the following ;
>HTTP which stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocal
This is used to secure communications over a communication Protocal .Therefore,it can be utilized at MUBS through securing website data transmissions for students hence increase security for data transfer like log ins
>SMTP stands for simple Main Transfer Protocal .
This is an internet standard communication Protocal for electronic mail transfer hence this is used to deliver email messages over the internet this can be between students and lectures ar alone students .
Furthermore,DHCP stands for Dynamic Host configuration Protocal .Hence this at Mubs enables devices of a student to obtain their dynamic network. Configuration automatically upon connnection to the university’s wired or wireless network .
More so ,there is FTP which stands for File Transfer Protocal; This is a process that MUBS can use to transfer large and sensitive files from one location to another hence useful in healthcare of universities
Telnet is also a network Protocal which is designed for remote connectivity here at MUBS this can be used to a variety of activities on a server including editing files,running various computer programs and checking emails by students
(C) OSI stands for Open System Interconnection Model.
This is a conceptual model that provides a common basis for the co ordination of standards development for the purpose of system interconnection.
Furthermore,Thai purpose of an OSI reference model is to guide technology vendors and developers so that digital communications products of software programs they create an intercoperate and to promote a clear framework that describes the functions of a networking or telecommunications system that is in use .
Http stands for hypertext Transfer protocol is set of rules for transferring files such as text,image , videos and sound plus other multimedia files . As soon as the user opens the web browser they are indirectly using http.it is a request response protocol.it uses the reliable tcp connection by default on tcp port 80,it is stateless means each request is considered as the new request. So http is used to communicate between web browsers and website servers.
File transfer protocol or FTP is a network protocol for transmitting files between computers over TCP/IP connections. You can also say it’s a protocol used to transfer computer files from a server to a client on a computer network.
The FTP operates with a maximum of 21 ports for control together with 20 ports for data transfer, It basically involves a set of commands that establishes a connection between two hosts. However, in order for the FTP to carry out it’s purpose, servers must be set up to run FTP services with the client having installed the software as a must.
Furthermore FTP is a client server protocol that is to say it relies on client and server communication,
The FTP enables a client to upload, download, delete, rename, move and copy files on server.
Users can work with the FTP via a command line interface from either a terminal window in Microsoft Mac OS or Linux.
The File Transfer Protocol is at times compared to the HTTP, however with the FTP, It’s able to share files that are too big for email.
With such a background, FTP is and can be utilized by MUBS and other places on that;
.FTP enables backup services to take place, data backup from one location to a secure backup
. FTP also enables replication ie duplication of files in case data is lost, which brings about the higher availability and resilience
.FTP enables access and data loading across networks..
The file transfer protocol functions at the application layer of the OSI model ensuring an application can effectively communicate with other applications on different computer networks

How mubs can employ TCP protocol
Mubs can use automated tools that stream line processes like substituting management . This can empower the faculty and staff with a solution that simplifies work flows so they focus on critical work.
Purpose of TCP
*It handles retransmission of dropped packets as it has to provide error free data transmission.
* It sends packets to and accepts packets from the network layer.
TCP determines how to break application data into packets that networks can deliver.
OSI reference model of TCP protocol
*The layer is referred to as layer 4 or in short L4 while numbered layers are not used in TCP(transmission control protocol.)
